our food supply?
I read yesterday that our government tests very few products that are shipped to the USA. We KNOW that Mexico uses DDT which isnt allowed here, yet we bring their produce here and that is what we get in the grocery stores, cause its cheaper. We have mad cow disease, spinach was bad, green onions, spices and meats and fish from China, dog food, peanut butter, chicken, flour, come on, whats left to go? Im planting a garden and buying from the Amish. I think we need to clean up our own nest before purchasing from others.
oh, and as for the pet food recall, they said, they didnt THINK human food was affected, lol.
I rant and rave about this all of the time. The FDA allows enough toxic stuff from US sources that are highly questionable, let alone from other countries! I, too, grow my own stuff. I purchase from local, organic farms, and use only raw, unpasturized milk from my happy cow. The allowance of growth hormones, steroids and antibiotics in commercial milk and meat should be banned. Thats why kids are developing at alarming rates. My 12 year old daughter has been on quality milk and vegetarian food for years, and she is clearly more healthy and less developed than her meat eating peers. At 12, young girls should not be wearing b and c cup bras!!! Everyone thinks my daughter is underdeveloped, but her doctor says she is right on track, and that its clear that the growth hormones are effecting kids. Lord only knows what this generation is going to face. I am giving your question a star, and kudos to you for being enlightened about the issue. If not for food allergies, I would have remained blissfully ignorant.
