Why would a group of Amish people stand in a group............?

I live out in the country, and watched a group of Amish people, park at a intersection, (I did not know that they traveled in anything but horse and buggy, but anyway..), get out and stand on the property corner for about 10 minutes. The property has an old school house on it that is falling down, but they were no where near the house. Any ideas?

I didn't think Amish drove vehicles either...but it could be that they have purchased some land and are debating what to do with it.
