Is my family turning into Mennonites / quasi Amish?
I'm 33, she is 30.
We have 5 kids.
We grew up "modern".
Today we see a lot of benefits of rooting back.
My wife sews long dresses for herself & our kids - very conservative dresses. All swimwear is VERY conservative.
We make all home made food, bread, grind our own wheat, make our own pickles etc.
We grow tons of veggies, have a quarter acre garden.
We home school.
We cut our own hair.
All dinners at the table every night with all food from scratch. This means NO cans or "bought" stuff. Like home made tortillas for tacos. Taco meat seasoned with spices not packages of spices.
I just get this strange feeling that we are turning more into mennonite type of people. Perhaps quasi Amish. We do not reject technology, but we have pretty much gotten rid of phones. Internet & TV is very limited.
